How to Measure

Measure from the floor to the point where you'll place your nail or hook. This is calculated so the centre of your artwork sits at the ideal eye level for your room.

  • Use a spirit level to ensure your artwork hangs straight
  • For heavy frames, use appropriate wall fixings — not just nails
  • If hanging above furniture, leave 15–20cm between the top of the furniture and bottom of the frame
  • In hallways and stairs, maintain consistent centre heights for a gallery effect
  • For gallery walls, plan the entire layout on the floor first before marking the wall
