Each print captures a different moment in nature: bare winter branches reaching upward against a pale sky, a lone tree standing quietly on a snow-covered field beneath long, sweeping clouds, and a dark pine forest interior where tall straight trunks disappear into shadow. Together they tell a quiet story of the natural world in winter, all in deep blacks, soft greys, and bright whites.

What I love about this set is how well the high-contrast black and white tones work against a grey wall — there's no clash, just a really satisfying depth. The three images feel connected without being identical, so you get variety and cohesion at the same time. If you're after something that's calm, atmospheric, and a little bit moody without being oppressive, this is it.

What's Included with Wall Art for Grey Walls Living Room | Black & White Forest & Winter Landscape Photography Set of 3

A set of 3 black and white nature photography art prints — bare winter trees, a lone tree in a snowy landscape, and a dark pine forest

Printed in the UK using fade-resistant pigment inks, made for long-lasting indoor display

Framed and canvas-wrapped options arrive ready to hang straight out of the box — no hunting for a frame that fits, no faff

Choose between unframed and framed options in multiple sizes and in Luster or Museum quality; also available in wrapped canvas size options

How to Style wall art for grey walls living room with This Black & White Forest Set

My favourite way to hang this set is in a straight horizontal row above a sofa or a console table, with an even gap of about 5–8 cm between each print. Because all three share the same black and white palette, they line up beautifully and the eye travels naturally from one scene to the next. Hang them so the centre of each print sits at roughly eye level — around 145–150 cm from the floor — and they'll feel grounded rather than floating. On a grey wall, the contrast is genuinely striking; on a white or off-white wall, the dark tones of the forest prints add real warmth and weight.

This set also works well in a staggered arrangement if your wall space is irregular — try the central snowy landscape print slightly higher than the two flanking it for an informal, editorial feel. For a living room with a natural or Scandi-influenced scheme, pair these prints with warm wood furniture, linen textures, and simple black or white accessories to keep things cohesive. Browse our full black and white wall art collection if you'd like to mix in other pieces from the same family.

Choosing the Right Size and Finish for Your Wall

Before you pick a size, do a quick measure of your wall space — I always say the prints should fill roughly two-thirds of the width of whatever furniture sits beneath them, so they feel anchored rather than lost. For a standard three-seater sofa, three prints at A3 or larger work really well; for a smaller wall or a hallway, A4 can be just right. The high-contrast black and white photography really rewards a larger format, so if you're on the fence, go bigger — the detail in the bare branches and the texture of the snow really comes into its own at scale.

For finish, Luster paper gives a gentle sheen that handles the deep blacks beautifully and is a great all-round choice for living rooms. If you want the richest shadow detail and the most gallery-like feel, Museum quality paper gives you that extra depth and a slightly more matte, fine-art look. Both are printed with fade-resistant inks so they'll stay crisp for years.
